October 24th, Wednesday, P.3 1. There was donations of worship fees from various Chinese Clubs during the remembrance ceremony of ^ 2. The Chinese Organization in Ottawa had appealed to Ambassador Yeung and the Immigration Headquarter about the time limit being absent from Canada. They asserted that those who left Canada after January 1917 might not be able to return to Canada before January 1918 due to the limited ship space. They hoped that the late-returners would be exempt from paying additional head-tax. However, such issue had to be discussed with the Cabinet ministers, but there was great hope for the Chinese to win the issue. 3. The Chee Kong Reading room in Victoria celebrated its 4th anniversary as well -<H^ ~3& "^"fc, as the remembrance date for yfo <^ /fj|, on October 25th. Speeches were made, and a brief introduction of the reading room was made.
