- October 15th, Monday, P. 3 A * t. 1. ^- /^ who was a representative from Seattle to promote the establishment of a silk textile manufacturing company had held a meeting at the C.B.A. He intended to recruit shareholders for the company, and a Vancouver Stock Salesmen Committee was set up with ifa *^pT J*^ , the president of the C.B.A. as the head. 2. The Chee Kong Tong in New Westminster announced on October 15th that Oct. 23rd should be the date to remember a hero of the Freemasons ( $p x^ f^i, ). And also on Oct. 20th, the association . would hold a meeting to recruit new members. 3. A resident in Calgary sent a letter to say that the celebration on October 23rd should be more exciting because: a) Dr. Sun had failed in his rebellion against the government in Canton. b) Dr. Sun had taken refuge. c) The Chee Kong Tong was establishing an association in Canton. 4. The C.B.A. in "Tvfy- %jfr also celebrated Confucius Day on October 12th. 5. The Vt*& ^Tf^ Cu/-\r in Victoria was going to elect the executives on November 12th. 6. More than $6000 worth of liquor was found in a Chinese Store in New Westminster.(The owner was fined $50 October 25th, P.3.
