August 27th, Monday, P.2-3 ^ %L> flv2 sent a lefcter to the C.B.A. on August 26th that they should take measures to pacify the desperate overseas Chinese in China. -^ said that urgent notice should be sent to modify the wrong announcement or to reserve more seats in the C.P. Q. S. ships for the returning Chinese. Moreover, ^ demanded that the C.B.A. should co-operate with the Chinese government to fight against Germany and should try to establish good relationships with the white community. P.3 2. Ambassador Yeung announced on August 20th that the Canadian government had cancelled the agreement to reserve 300 ship spaces in the C.P.R. ship for the returning immigrants. The reason was that the British government had reserved all the space for transportation of military provisions. Finally, he confirmed that those who left Canada before Dec. 31st, 1916 could still have the privileges to return freely within 6 months after armistice. 3. f\ '/V of Victoria demanded that the C.B.A. should send an explanation to the ove.rae.as Chinese in China and other places. The explanation should consist of how 3% ^ zy^ ^ad misinterpreted the announcement of Ambassador Yeung.
