Description
August 22nd, Wed. P. 2 The C.B.A. in Vancouver was accused of not raising the national flag and preparing the friendship tea-party. The executives were demanded to re-consider the requests of Ambassador Lim. P. 3 Since the C.B.A. had made a mistake by sending out a wrong announcement to the overseas Chinese in Hong Kong or China. (July 4, July 7 and July 18), the Chinese who were still in China became desperate. They sent a letter on July 31st asserting that they would not be able to return to Canada on time. They hoped that Ambassador Yeung could reserve more space in the C.P.R. ships so that they could return to Canada soon. (Due to the been to desperation in getting ship tickets, the cost per passenger had/raised £H from (?) $80-$100.
