Description: August 16th, Thursday P.I 1. An article on the defects of 'tong war.' P.3 2. The final election of the Hoysun branch association in Vancouver was held on August 15th. A general meeting would be held on August 22 to discuss the development of the association. 3. It was discovered that opium was delivered to Vancouver from the eastern part of Canada. 2 Chinese were arrested for smuggling over $1400 worth of opium into Vancouver. There were also agents in Vancouver to distribute opium to other places.
