- August 2nd, Thrus. P.I 1. An article to discuss the effect of Chinese newspapers in America. 2. 5 Chinese and 5 whites were arrested at 322 W. Fender Street. A large amount of narcotic drugs was found there. The police found that there was a telephone in the house for communication. The customers would call before they came. It seened that the smoking den had very good business too. The head was bailed out at $1,000 while others were $25. 3. The Hoysun Association ( j^- \%p Jffi /^ "j£_ ) in Victoria announced on July 31st that the branch association in Vancouver had been established for a year and the service of the preparation committee .had terminated. The headquarter in Victoria would like to call forth an election of executives for the branch office. A representative was sent to Vancouver to prepare a general meeting on August 5th. It was hoped that the Chinese in Vancouver would participate. P.7 4. The monthly (June) report on the credit and debit of the C.B.A. hospital.
