- July 28th, Sat. P. 2 1. Ambassador Lim announced on July 26th that Chinese were now exempt from registering an exit form when they intended to leave Canada (June 28th P. 2-3). However, those who intended to go abroad should register at the immigration office. An interview would be given there whereby the person's S.E.S. would be recorded. asserted on July 28th that he was not responsible for any trouble made in the election. He said that the authority and power were in the hands of ^ TO Jj^ ; so he hoped that he would not be accused any further. 3. 45 Chinese were arrested at 115 Fender Street. They were charged with gambling. The policemen had confiscated $200 from the cashier. The head was bailed out at $100 while the others were bailed out at $25. 4. 43 Chinese gamblers were arrested in New Westminster. Some were fined $50. The others $10 and $25. (July 26th, P. 3.
