- July 14th, Sat. P.2 The C.B.A. replied to the letter which requested for the change of the election system: There were 2 trends in the community, one party was in favour of change (i.e. to have representatives from locality associations as the executives) and the other was in favour of the existing system (e.g. ., <± A $ &.L, A^. % . -4 i_ the Presbyterian Church , \ ^A £ 3>L B , it v A -f: ^ The C.B.A. had held a meeting on July llth and it was decided that election of executives by locality representatives might be troublesome. The Association thus inisted on the original election system by votes. Through this method all Chinese could vote and all those who had given in the foundation fees or hospital fund were qualified to be elected. The association then announced that the dead line for registration for nomination would be July 17th. 2. There was a general meeting for the C.B.A. in Victoria. The issue of the _jf x* , discussion was how to maintain and profit the association. ^ v^ /\j had stressed that he had tried his best to collect exit fee for the hospital. 3. The C.B.A. in Victoria also pleaded with the Chinese Community for a war fund drive to fight against monarchism. 4. The Ghee kong Headquarter gave a similar proposal for the member. It was hoped that every member could at least donate $5 war fund.
