- Description
- June 21st, Thursday P.3 1. A letter was sent by a resident in Victoria to expose the riot case in the C.B.A. in Victoria: On the 2nd of Sept. 1916, the C.B.A. elected the new executives. However, the Kuomintang could only have a few members elected. Moreover, they were only elected for minor posts. Originally, the Kuomintang wanted to get the presidential posts, and seeing that they failed, they planned revenge. Later they attacked the presidents by using the excuse that the presidents had used the name of the association and sent a protest to Peking against the denunciation of Confucianism. The Kuomintang demanded an explanation and in the meeting on October 8th, 1916, they started the riot.
