- Description
- October 25th, Wednesday P.3 (1) The C.P.R. Company had made a contract with the U.S. government 4 years ago to have American inspection officers staying permanently in Vancouver to examine the East Asians transit passengers going to the states. Consequently, the C.P.R. was able to get many customers who were going to the states. Now the contract had terminated and the U.S. government would like to have the inspection team stationed in Seattle instead of in Vancouver. Starting from October 25th, all transit passengers had to go to the inspection office in Seattle for entry examination. (2) The United Chinese Association announced on October 24th that the provision and supply company was losing money and was unable to continue. However, if any shareholder would like to assist the company they could register before Oct. 28th. If the association could not find help after that date, the association would put all the storage of goods and merchandize on sale for money to clear up the debt.
