- Description
- September 5th, Tuesday P.3 (1) The new executives of the C.B.A. in Victoria, 1916 to 1917. (2) News from -^ *g^ "^ (Cumberland). An official inspection committee of 3 persons was asked to examine the coal miner licenses from August 29th to Sept. 1st. The Chinese representatives were Ambassador Liu and a lawyer. During the inspection period, all licences of the miners were examined for their validity. Ever since May, there was a provincial legislature that required inspection of licenses if defects were detected. If there was illegal usage of licenses, the license holders would be exempt from their privileges. It was fortunate that all Chinese had passed the examination.
