- Description
- Noven ber 2 2nd, Monday P.3 (1) The re-election of new executives on the 2Cth in the C.b.H. of Vancouver was a failure. Reasons for tie failure were:- a) the re-election was delayed for three months. b) because the Chinese Times was unreasonably disqualified. c) many new elected members were unwilling to vote due to the above two reasons. The reasons for the delay of the re-election:- a) the C.B.A. knew that it was unreasonable to disqualify theChinese Ti1;,es. (The Chinese Tii.,es was disqualified because the representatives might revise the account and records of the association.) b) the presidents ("^^ ) and the directors had no confidence of gaining full control. They v\, ere afraid ti;at the secretary together with tl e revolutionary party would gain control of the associat ion and make troubles with the Embassy. They thought that the re-election would strengthen the power of the other side, so the presidents and the directors would like to delay the re-election. c) Since the United Chinese Provision/Supply Company had a few representatives in the executive posts, the presidential side became indifferent to the re-election because they were of unfriendly terms with the company. The Chinese Times would like all the responsible Chinese residents to go to the 2nd re-election day and give a jiust vote. The members of Freemason should also go to question why the Chinese Times was expelled.
