Description: July 17th. Saturday P. 3 (1) The rules for teaching Cantonese and common language in the Chinese Public school. Though many students were from Yip, they preferred to speak Cantonese to their native language. An interesting phenomenon found by the Chinese Times was that the Chinese in Victoria preferred to speak Cantonese, however, those in Vancouver would try their best to preserve their native languages and prevent from speaking Cantonese.
