June 22nd, Tuesday P.3 (1) The government bonds had started to be sold in Canada. Agents in Vancouver were f/|l V^L ^ / ~f? ^~ ;v / --^- "tt "?^ J')^- ypi_ _?'£_ X*J v? 1 -^ ^.'^ \^ and etc. All organizations and individuals were welcomed. There were 3 ways to pay:- a) sent the money back to Peking directly. b) gave the money to the agents. c) gave the money to the tirubassy. The above announcement was posted out on June 19th. P. 3 (2) There were reports on the English paper on June 21st that there were underground tunnels in Chinatown which operated as gambling clubs and opium dens. It was hoped that the C.B.^. would defend the position of the Chinese community. (3) News from Toronto (June 21st), no license would be issued to Chinese laundromats if the neighoorhood showed discontent.
