Description: May 6th, Thursday P.3 (1) The City councils discovered that many gambling clubs had used charity club licenses for their operation. They decided more inspections of the clubs had to be done in order to uproot the Chinese gambling business. P.3 (2) 10 Chinese were charged for smoking opium. They were either lined $25. or 30 days in prison. P.2 (3) A report of the expenses by the Vancouver Chinese Salvation and Welfare Association. Money used between April Oth ai:d May 3rd - $94.70.
