- Description
- April 5th, Monday. P. 3 (1) It was reported in an English newspaper that starting from May 1st, 1915, all the laundromats in big cities of kuebec had to pay $30. annual tax, in smaller cities, $25., and in towns, $20. Initially, the provincial Legislature suggested a $50. annual tax, however Ambassador Yeung together with the C.B.A. in Montreal fought for the reduction of the annual tax. Consequently, they were able to reduce $20. after 2 months of arguing and appealing to the provincial legislature. (2) The executives of the National Salvation Association in New Westminster were elected on March 29th.
