March 5th, Friday P. 3 (1) The En.bassy in Vancouver n.ade an announcement to the Chinese stating that a Canadian was going to develop his 300 acres farm land arid he needed 50 workers. It was a good opportunity for the unemployed to try their luck. Those experienced faruers could go to the Embassy for further information. P.2 (2) Ottawa News The Immigration Office in Vancouver had recieved the order to extend the time limit of absence from Canada. Those who left for China between April 1st, 1914 and August 1st, 1915 were allowed six months extension of absence. That is, after the date the Canadian government had announced the armistice of the European war, the returning Chinese would be allowed six months time limit for free re-entry into Canada.
