February 15th, Monday P. 3 (1) It was suggested in the Quebec Legislature that the Chinese laundry men in Montreal should pay $50. City tax as well as $50. Provincial tax. Those in Quebec City should pay $40. while all the White laundry men would be exempt from this rule. However, this suggestion was defeated, con- sequently, it was decided on February 5th, the initial meeting, that there would be an inspection of Chinese laundry shops to prevent overtime working at night hours. A second meeting was to be held on February 8th on the above issue, the Chinese laundry men became desperate and they appealed to Ambassador Yeung for help. P. 3 (2) A murder case.
