February 1st, Monday P.2 (1) Announcement was Made to encourage donation for the Salvation arid Welfare Committees ( fc ^J?\ l^\ ) (Detail on Notes 3) P. 3 (2) Ambassador Lim announced on January 30th that the members of a musical club had held a concert to raise funds for the needy and unemployed Chinese on 31st January. of the club* had already got permission from the city council to hold the concert. Since it was a charity concert, it was not allowed to sell admission tickets. The Aubassador had decided to put a sealed box at the entrance of the concert hall, and donations were required from the audience. The donation box was finally opened in the public by officials. It was recorded that $54.3^ was collected in the afternoon show while $112.45 collected from the night show. The fund was then stored in the Embassy. * This group was called.
