- Description
- January 28th, Thursday P. 3 (1) Ambassador Lim in Vancouver made an announcement to all hawkers. He stated that the hawkers were indifferent about the government action which liruited the working hours of the hawkers. The Embassy would initiate a counter-action by gathering sigr. atures of residents who disagreed with the government action. A lawyer was hired to prepare the petition, copies were sent out to various hawkers and it was hoped that enthusiastic Chinese residents would also voluntarily distribute the petitions for more supporters. Petitions had to be returned by 31st January for appeal.
