Description
January 15th, Friday P. 3 A letter was sent by Mr. Wong Hint Ying ( ^ M'JV TV^ ) of Ottawa on 2nd January. It was addressed to C.B.A., Chamber of Commerce, and the Ambassador, and it concerned about the discriminatory case against Chinese we>rkers. He felt the injustice that the government was imposing on the Chinese worker, e.g. he thought that the $500. tread tax was useless to safeguard the position of the Chinese. He said that the harassment on the Chinese laundry- men would be contagious. Soon it would spread from Tore nto and Montreal to all over Canada. He further criticized the majority Chinese who were afraid and unwilling to fight for their own rights, adding that it was wrong for them to stay out of this business. Lastly, he hoped that all overseas Chinese would unite arid fight for their own right.
