Description: January llth, Monday P.3 There were a few merchants who wanted to raise the price of rice ^Vt-jSavvVW store started to sell rice at a lower price for $1.25 per sack in order to benefit the community. The United Chinese Provision supply company also reduced the price to $1.20 (44 lb. . per sack). Consequently, the Chinese would not suffer rice shortage during the difficult war-time period.
