"The Swedish Weekly."

"In 1894 Konstantin Flemming, a typographer, took over Uddén's paper, renamed it Väktaren (The Guardian), and transformed it into a secular weekly. The two men [Svante Uddén and Flemming] became business partners and together bought Canada's first Swedish print shop. The following year Flemming incorporated both papers, Väktaren and the faltering Skandinaviske canadiensaren, into a secular weekly called Canada, which functioned from 1895 to 1907."--p. 125, Swedes in Canada : invisible immigrants / Elinor Barr, ©2015
