"The First Part of 'Don Quixote' was published at Madrid in 1605, the Second Part at Madrid in 1615; both Parts were issued at Barcelona by the same publisher (but printed by different printers) during the course of 1617; the first edition of the book complete appeared at Madrid in 1647. Jervas' translation was first published in 1742. In 'The World's Classics' it was first published in 1907."--page [iv]
