A map of Frobishers, Daviss, and Hudsons
to the north.
Government of Canada with permission from Natural Resources
had two earlier voyages to the north, in 1576 and 1577.
Davis had two earlier voyages to the north, in 1585
and 1586. Hudson had three other voyages. The three
other, in 1607, 1608, and 1609, all attempted
to go over the North Pole and were stopped by ice. On the third,
he decided to try going west and reached North America (near where
New York City is now).
