Canadiana.org is a national not-for-profit, charitable organization with a membership-based governance model. With a pan-Canadian perspective, Canadiana aims to involve a wide range of partners and sectors in the membership and governance of the organization.

How to become a member of Canadiana.org

Membership Fee Schedule

Canadiana.org has four classes of membership: Foundation, Governing, Associate and Individual.

 
A Foundation Member shall be a memory institution or association that has paid the annual Foundation Member fee. A Foundation Member shall have a seat on the Board of Directors, enjoy the benefits of membership and have the right to vote in the affairs of the Corporation. All new Foundation Members must be approved by the Board of Directors.  Foundation Members’ Board representatives have the right to participate on the Executive Committee and steering committees.

Foundation Member Fee: ECO Subscription + $15,000 per year.

A Governing Member shall be a memory institution or association that has paid the annual Governing Member fee. A Governing Member shall enjoy the benefits of membership and have the right to vote in the affairs of the Corporation. A minimum of two seats on the Board of Directors will be filled, from the pool of Governing Members, by nomination by the Nominating Committee and election as defined in By-Laws clause 6.03 Election of Directors. Governing Members’ Board representatives may be nominated by the Board of Directors to participate on the Executive Committee and steering committees. 

Governing Member Fee: ECO Subscription + $5,000 per year

An Associate Member shall be any association or organization that has paid the annual Early Canadiana Online subscription fee which includes an Associate Membership. An Associate Member shall enjoy the benefits of membership and may attend and speak at general meetings but shall not have a right to vote in the affairs of the Corporation. 

Associate member Fee = ECO Subscription which includes Associate Membership

An Individual Member shall be a person who has paid the annual Early Canadiana Online subscription fee which includes an Individual Membership. An Individual Member shall enjoy the benefits of membership and may attend and speak at general meetings but shall not have a right to vote in the affairs of the Corporation.

Individual Member Fee = ECO Subscription which includes Individual membership
