Territory into the Union, June 23, 1870
This document brings the territories into Confederation. Section
1 calls for £300,000 to be paid to Hudson's
Bay Company. Other sections deal with land grants and the
takeover of infrastructure.
- Schedule (A) discusses the resolution of Canadians to settle
the west and the need for control of the territories to do so.
- Schedule (B) contains various resolutions and memoranda dealing
with negotiations to take control of the territories.
- Schedule (C) contains the Deed of Surrender.
